I love President Obama.
For the first time, as an American, I feel safe. Not just from external threats but I feel that my basic rights are actually be defended. The rights of my fellow Americans are finally being protected. Employment is on the rise, and things are looking better.
However, there is one thing I am afraid of…
The only threat that our President cannot stop?
The unabashed and disgusting hatred many Americans foster towards one another. This hatred mostly comes from the conservative right. I fear the republican presence in congress.
The fact that most states have actually banned gay marriage makes me feel physically ill.
The idea that planned parenthood is under constant threat, scares me to death.
It is really easy for politicians to ban birth control, cut funding for breast cancer screening etc because they themselves, their wives, and daughters have federal health insurance.
I guess the point of this post is—-
I am voting. You better all be voting.
If you have a uterus, know someone who does, love someone who does. vote.
If you are in love, have ever loved anyone— then allow all AMERICANS to get married and vote.
